Psalms 1:3

"He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers."

I always visualize the oak tree's roots reaching downward to the sustaining water below, drawing that water upward through its trunk to create the enormous branches that become protection and provision for the nature surrounding it. I am equally nourished, inspired and challenged by the talented artists around me and hopefully I am able to give back to those around me as well. So I wanted the roots and the branches of this oak tree to touch all the edges of the painting and the surrounding paintings in order to express the inspiring, supportive connection we have with one another.

Capturing The Moment

This painting is an acknowledgement to all the artists who are the reason for this wonderful exhibit. Our inspiration from the world around us is as varied as our interpretation and expression of that inspiration. The Honeycomb Project is an example of the connection of our unique, creative personalities.

Just For Fun

This painting is the result of a photo I took of a Parrotfish at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Oregon. I always wanted to paint it. This project was the perfect opportunity--just for the fun of it. The photo and now the painting simply makes me happy.
