My practice focuses on painting, drawing and sculpting from life, using traditional fine art techniques and experimenting with unconventional approaches including organic and upcycled materials. I explore the boundaries between human identity and ecology, engaging in questions of representation and relations with nature. I use art to build bridges between communities, and to create an awareness for the environment and human connections with it.

Of late, deeply conscious of our fragile ecosystems, I have been focusing on making portraits of trees in homage to them, so central to our lives. For the honeycomb project, I chose to engage more imaginatively and emotionally in my relationship to their essential lifeline, depicting an imagined tree and how it reaches down, and up, and out, deep into the soil and into the air, providing a maze of interconnections and indispensable beauty.
