My piece explores the relationship between my view of Nevada and someone special to me; my grandmother. Growing up in Reno, I have experienced the country side of this high desert town. I am fascinated by it. My tiles are handcrafted individually with carved and glazed representations of Nevada. The pieces are then arranged in a way that resembles a quilt, highlighting my grandmother’s love for quilt making. This collaboration of ideas tells my story of Nevada in this mosaic piece.
