Nevada has been my home my entire life, my piece is inspired by the Nevada desert. My design captures the warm tones of the desert landscape, soft yellows, oranges and browns. The pop of green and pink was an artistic choice to create a focal point in my desert scene. My piece is a faux mosaic in that I rolled out a single slab of clay and carved my design into the surface. I then grouted the grooves from my carving to create this unique piece.
