My Honeycomb piece is based on my interest and love for things that have enriched my life for as long as I can remember. I have always had an interest in art, but being a mother at 16 there wasn’t time for me to pursue it. As my children grew, more time was available to pursue guitar lessons and gardening. As we became empty nesters, my husband of 30 years at that time encouraged me to go back to school. My world opened up to educating myself and pursuing my interest in art design. It took me awhile after changing my major a few times. I decided that art was what I wanted to pursue. After graduating with a degree in Art design and Art Studio, I focused on watercolor and acrylic painting. My design is called “Harmony.” It is based on my idea of how nature and music come together to harmonize. It is what touches the soul and heart of each and everyone of us. It is where I find peace since I lost my husband 11 years ago. Creating and coming up with original ideas gives me a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to be part of something larger than I could have possibly imagined.
