The world is not black and white, but not everyone understands that.

Depicted is a war between “heaven”, “hell”, and a grey side representing “limbo” or “purgatory”. The context is open to interpretation, but what is for certain, is things have gotten complicated within the realm. Visual emphasis on the middle grey character prompts us to think, wonder, ask.

I made this piece in response to particular, significant divides in the world, of harsh conflicts and wars happening when communications breakdown. I wanted to show how “gradient” things really are.

Also, I thought a war beyond the ground would go hard.

Hope. Brace. Yield.

Yield. Brace. Hope.

Do whatever works.
