I call this Ode to Rebecca, honoring my dear friend who nurtured young artists and was a guide to me as a new teacher years ago. I utilized symbols of her own artwork and of her final resting place in the roots of a catalpa tree.

​My artwork is usually personal and, as in portraiture, related to those who are influential in my life.
