For this project, I decided to create a collage using two photos that I took last summer. The first photo is a wall in my bedroom. My collection of trinkets are incredibly sentimental and I like to bring things home from my travels. I rearranged my display to take a local approach with the Reno matchbox and the Reno pin on display. I am very grateful to be from Nevada and wanted to reflect that in this art piece. The second photo in this collage is one that I took at Spooner Lake in June. We had a lot of snow that winter and I was lucky enough to see more snow plants in one place than I ever have before. I painted over the image to recreate the vibrant red color that I remembered and that I always hunt for among the greenery. Snow plants are a sign spring and bring me hope. I feel grateful to live in such a naturally beautiful area and knew I wanted to include some local scenery in this collage..
