The natural world will always be my inspiration for my art. As I investigate my new surroundings in Prescott AZ, I am struck by the variety of new high desert landscapes and plant forms.

​For this piece, I chose an ancient alligator pine in Prescott National Forest. Its dynamic texture and canopy stark against the clear sky of the mountains, demonstrated a stunning constrast of shape and color, perfect for watercolor and pen study.
