My artist’s journey began after my retirement from work, mostly in the form of dabbling in watercolors in my home studio. In 2022 I was introduced to the Veterans Art Class at the American Legion and became connected to the David J Drakulich Foundation. These classes have increased my understanding of various forms of art and have allowed me to explore a wide variety of mediums.

​While watercolor was my “comfort zone,” I now love painting in oil. With regular classes and coaching, my landscapes have become more detailed and my eye has been trained to see nuances I never noticed before.

Working with the professional artists with DJD Foundation has given me confidence to try new things and to stretch my wings as an artist. I no longer dabble in art; now I am an artist!
