The reason there is a tulip painted with cracked gravel in the back is because I live by the saying "there is always light in the dark." The gravel representing the dark fr many reasons being that underneath all the gravel and black top from the road used to be dirt where flowers would grow but over the years and adding more black top it doesn't really give mother nature the opportunity to grow there anymore. As well as the crack represents brokenness in life due to all the trials and tribulations we have all gone through. The tulip represents the light. Through all the trials and tribulations we face, there is always growth from those experiences and that there is beauty in the the darkest places.
