Cecilia Carrell
My work is rooted in my appreciation for both the quiet, intimate moments of life and the philosophical questions that define my existence. I work across multiple mediums like graphite, colored pencils, acrylic paint, and charcoal to explore the connections between our everyday lives and the passion and creativity that move us to live them more fully and more intentionally.
I find inspiration in the small moments. A warm cup of coffee on a rainy morning, the way that light looks at dawn, the texture of the pages in an old book. These moments remind us of the beauty and meaning in the ordinary. At the same time, I’m drawn to the deeper questions that make those moments more precious: How do you live creatively and authentically? How do we honor the wonder that lives in us all?
Through my work I show the peace and comfort of existence and the heavy depth of those emotions. Each piece is an invitation to pause and look closer at both yourself and how you view what surrounds you. It reminds you to exist in your moments of stillness and to remember the control you have over the way you live and exist within them.
