I have spent most of my life standing in the background without a clue how to step out of the shadows. Photography has given me the push. I take photographs as a means to be seen, as an individual, as a creative, as a human being, with a unique and valuable perspective. Every photograph I take is a singularly unique experience shaped by my curiosity, my mood, my emotions and so many other outside influences. I strive to expose the clarity in chaos, to eliminate the unnecessary and discover the pearls that exist all around us. For me, black and white photography requires closing my mind to the vibrancy and energy of a subject and drilling down to the detail and personality of its bare bones.
