Climate change is wreaking its extremes consistently as some of us hold on for dear life. The flooding, the hurricanes, tornadoes, fires and mudslides are causing more deaths, more property damage, and more suffering. We all must do more to combat global warming.

​The idea of mining lithium at the Thacker Pass site has me wondering if the short term goals are really worth the environmental impacts. Do we really understand the long term effects of removing tons of earthen material? Is our need to make use of the metal a greater use than what it is already a part of? My next concern about this mining project is water usage. Water is a scarce resource in our high desert environment. There's enough to sustain the animals but with climate change and greater demands on the available water sources we may lose our animal populations, especiallywild horses.

​I got to thinking about place, place as a state of mind, place as a physical address, place as in what order are you, first, second, third, etc. born or finish, what is your place in life. I decided I am i a happy pace.
