Pam Brekas
Painting is like a treasure hunt. I never know what my ultimate result will be until it reveals itself to me. I start with acrylic paint and glazes in an abstract manner. Often I add papers, other pieces of canvas or misc. small items. The art piece creates itself.
These 2 pieces were a single painting on a stretched canvas, then deconstructed to fit the honeycomb shape. Individually they were more successful than the original. Both evoke an undersea concept and are aptly named "Hidden in the Kelp" and "Sea Fan".
