Nalani Kumiko

I was really enamored with the idea of a "hive", so I painted a fae queen based on a honeybee, and a defiant kingfisher sprite. Fae in folktales are known for trickery, and I imagine that a sort of contest is about to start between these two, but neither one is sure what the other will do. I made the composition so that they make eye contact when set up.
