Kseniia Starikova

The butterfly is a symbol for the right of all living beings to move freely. Like the butterflies, human beings cross borders in search of safer habitats. Like the butterflies, human beings cross borders in order to survive. I migrated from Ukraine to the United States in 2022, and I started a family. There are three honeycombs with Ukrainian landscape and three ones with American landscape in my work of art. You can see my pathway from Ukrainian landscape, the Carpathians, and a wheat field to the American landscapes. There are Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada Mountains, and cactus flowers in my artwork.
