At a young age I became very fascinated with sea life and just the sea in general. I would say it started by doing research on the Titanic and the history behind it and then slowly more about the animals within the sea. Something that always catches me off guard is how much of the ocean has really been explored, when you look it up it claims that less than five percent has been explored which absolutely blows my mind. With taking such a big interest in the ocean and the creatures that live within the ocean I decided to focus my honeycomb project on sea life. I have such a big fascination with sharks so with my piece I made the shark my main focal point. I also included a stingray and turtle in my piece as those are also such beautiful and amazing sea creatures. I tried to take the many pieces surrounding the animals and imitate the ocean without making it look too realistic. With the animals I painted to have their general colors but with the surrounding pieces I painted them with different variants of blues. I loved this project because it allowed me to put something I find so fascinating into an art form.
